Out of Hours
The Primary Care Trust has contracted with Kernow Urgent Care Services. (formerly KernowDoc) to provide you with urgent medical treatment after the surgery closes during the night, weekends and holidays. If you require this service telephone this number: 0870 242 1242

Appointments
The practice strives to meet the needs of all patients. All consultations are by appointment. We offer a mix of appointments, some bookable two weeks in advance, some available 48 hours and 24 hours in advance and we also have appointments available on the day.

We also offer an Extended Hours Service especially for patients who are unable to attend during our normal surgery opening times.  Appointments are available from 18.30 pm until 19.45 pm on  Tuesdays, at Praze or a Wednesdays or Thursdays, at Connor Downs, depending on which Doctor is on duty that week.  All evening appointments must be booked in advance by telephone or in person during our normal opening hours..

Home Visits
Where possible please try to come to the surgery. If you know you are going to need a visit please telephone in the morning. You will be asked to give a short explanation of the problem so that the doctor can be notified and decide how urgent your request is.

Services to Patients

  • Flu vaccines
  • Minor surgery
  • Monitoring of patients on Warfarin medication
  • Monitoring and referral of patients where necessary
  • Monitoring of mothers and babies who leave hospital within 24 hours of birth
  • 24 hour BP monitoring
  • IUD fitting
  • 24 hour ECG monitoring

physioPhysiotherapy: Helen Gambier is the Practice physiotherapist and is available on Thursdays and Fridays, appointments are made at the request of a Doctor.

Counselling: The Practice has three counsellors, appointments are made at the request of the Doctor.

Stop Smoking Service: The Practice has a trained Stop Smoking counsellor, Sally Duff, who can give practical support and advice to help with giving up smoking. Contact reception for appointments at Praze on Wednesday afternoons.
