Services to Patients

The practice has a contract with the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust to provide general medical services and the following additional services

• Flu vaccines
• Minor surgery
• Monitoring of patients on Warfarin medication
• Monitoring and referral of patients where necessary
• Monitoring of mothers and babies who leave hospital within 24 hours of birth
• 24 hour BP monitoring
• IUD fitting
• 24 hour ECG monitoring

Physiotherapy: Helen Gambier is the Practice physiotherapist and is available on Thursdays and Fridays, appointments are made at the request of a Doctor.

Counselling: The Practice has three counsellors, appointments are made at the request of the Doctor.

Stop Smoking Service: The Practice has a trained Stop Smoking counsellor, Sally Duff, who can give practical support and advice to help with giving up smoking. Contact reception for appointments at Praze on Wednesday afternoons.

Private Fees

Some services we provide are not available under the NHS. These include medical checks for HGV drivers, mortgage applications, certain sports certificates covering fitness to travel, own a shotgun, medical certificates, passports applications, photocopies of medical records.

Some travel vaccinations are available under the NHS, others are not. Should you think you may require vaccinations for travel please complete the questionnaire available at reception at least six weeks before travel so that sufficient time can be planned for any course of treatment required.

All our fees are based on those suggested by the British Medical Association or local guidelines. Any fees collected are used for the benefit of the patients i.e. to purchase additional medical equipment or improve patient comfort. If you are unsure about any fees please ask at reception.
