Out of Hours
The Primary Care Trust has contracted with Kernow Urgent Care Services. (formerly KernowDoc) to provide you with urgent medical treatment after the surgery closes during the night, weekends and holidays. If you require this service telephone this number: 0870 242 1242

Appointments
The practice strives to meet the needs of all patients. All consultations are by appointment. We offer a mix of appointments, some bookable two weeks in advance, some available 48 hours and 24 hours in advance and we also have appointments available on the day

Home Visits
Where possible please try to come to the surgery. If you know you are going to need a visit please telephone in the morning. You will be asked to give a short explanation of the problem so that the doctor can be notified and decide how urgent your request is.

Community Midwives

If you become pregnant you will be allocated a midwife depending on where you live.
Your midwife will provide you with all the information you require. Please ensure you have her contact details and depending on your address she will tell you where to attend for your antenatal checks.

Community Nurses

This service will be arranged by the doctors or hospital should you require it. When you are allocated a district nurse please ensure you have their contact numbers. The nurses work in specific teams depending on where you live.
Community Matron
We are pleased to have Juliet James, Community Matron, now attached to our team. She is able to provide additional help and support to some of our patients.

Health Visitors

A health visitor runs a ‘drop in’ session at Praze on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 1.30pm – 2.30pm. If you wish to speak to the health visitor, contact the surgery for a telephone number.

Counsellors

Counsellors hold sessions at this surgery. Your doctor will discuss this option if it is considered beneficial.

Macmillan Nurses

Macmillan nurses are attached to the surgery and work closely with the district nursing team.

Attached Staff

Physiotherapist - Helen Gambier
The doctors employ our own physiotherapist to provide this additional service to patients. The doctor will refer you if appropriate. Helen is also able to provide acupuncture for pain relief in some circumstances.

Smoking Cessation Advisors - Sally Duff
We have our own counsellor based at the surgery who is able to provide you with support and guidance.
